CMA CGM and ANL - Container Detention
CMA CGM and ANL will continue to offer their generous 10 day free use period to all importers with time starting from the date the containers are available to be uplifted from the port or Metroport (the latter being for cargoes t/s over Tauranga as a result of vessels being diverted).
The SAN AUREILO vZJ034N is now alongside Bledisloe terminal ready to start work as soon as the industrial action concludes late tonight. She is expected to complete her operations and depart tomorrow (Tue 6th) at 1400hrs. Importers need to monitor the PoA web site to check on availability.
The ANL BURILLA v255S sailed from Tauranga yesterday (Sun 4th) and containers are expected to start moving to Auckland within the next 24-48 hours subject to status and wagon availability. Importers should refer to the PoT website for cargo availability at Metroport.
All releases will of course be dependent on the prerequisite that all import formalities with the Carrier and border agencies have been completed in the usual manner.
Given container supply in the region is extremely tight at this time, and our ability to manage our stocks has been severely impacted by this industrial action, it is highly unlikely that there will be any leniency towards free time extentions. Containers returned outside of the free time period will be subject to the Carriers detention rates unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing with the Carrier prior to the expiry of the free time period.
