Quarantine team cross the Tasman
International delegates attending the CBAFF conference included four executive members of the Australia-based Industry Working Group on Quarantine (IWGQ).
IWGQ managing director Hart Krtschil, Chairman Geoff Clark, deputy chairman Steve Morris – who is also chief executive of the Customs Brokers & Forwarders Council of Australia – and treasurer Brian Lovell, chief executive of the Australian Federation of International Forwarders, made their first group visit to the event.
The IWGQ is an industry body that consists of associations and commercial parties interested primarily in any aspects of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) import and export operations.
It also provides industry training and works widely with government organisations and industry stakeholders both in Australia and elsewhere on a wide range of issues.
Mr Krtschil said that IWGQ worked closely with the CBAFF secretariat and, while some members had individually attended the conference in previous years, they were delighted to be there as a group this year.
