As the leading and only Federation representing New Zealand’s Customs Brokers & Freight Forwarders, CBAFF is committed to industry growth and education. One of our key pillars is to attract and retain young people, and we are putting together a refreshed Generation Future working group. We are asking for expressions of interest and nominations to join us as young industry members advocating for others - open to members only, thank you.
You will need to be under 35 years old as at December 31st, 2024.
We are wanting to create a dedicated working group that will focus on learning, development, innovation and growth for our industry.
We are looking for individuals who have diverse experience and broad prospectives, and who aren’t afraid to speak up for young logistics professionals here in NZ.
We are wanting people from all sectors; Freight, Customs, Transport, Logistics, Warehousing, Shipping lines, Airlines, anyone who wants to help promote our industry. We will be putting together a group that is representing the whole industry, so diversity is encouraged.
The expectation is that you will commit to a year of membership, and you will participate in the monthly team meeting.
We need people that are willing to collaborate and put forward ideas.
You will need to suggest and submit content for social media platforms and help build an engaging platform to introduce new people to our industry and get them excited.
You will need to participate in some Wisetech Academy activities and provide detailed feedback. Some interviews will be conducted by video, so we will need people that are happy to be recorded.
We need people that will volunteer to lead for specific projects, as well as people to participate and provide feedback.
We need your ideas on creating content, giveaways and engaging materials.
We want volunteers to join us to present to the guidance councillors and talk about some of the options within our industry.
So, what’s in it for you?
In return for your participation, you will receive opportunities for free upskilling through Wisetech Academy.
You will have access to amazing people in the industry who can guide you on your career pathways.
We will also have presentations from various CBAFF council members on their portfolios, to further inspire you.
And in 2026, we will gift conference tickets to all of the Generation Future councillors who have stayed for the year.
This is a volunteer role.
If you are genuinely excited about the opportunity to motivate people into our industry and help to build a platform for ongoing support and learning, then please register your interest by emailing with your reasons for wanting to apply, detailing your experience and attach your CV if available. Please include the name and contact email of your manager.
For any questions, please feel free to reach out.
